CIE Delta E 76 (L*a*b* dE)
Delta E 76 is simply the Euclidean (i.e. straight line) distance
between two color coordinates in CIE
L*a*b* colorspace. Since the development of CIE Delta E 76,
several improved delta E metrics have been developed, such as CIE Delta E
94 and CIE Delta E
2000.
Since it is based on L*a*b* space, a reference white needs to be
chosen to compute this Readout value.
