Named Color Swatch
The Named Color Swatch Readout displays the name of the color from
the chosen named color Palette that best matches the measured color,
as judged according to the CIE Delta E
2000 metric, as well as an approximate visual representation
of a measured color and the closest pallet color, and the
corresponding Delta E 2000 value. The accuracy of the color
displayed depends on how accurately your device display resembles an
sRGB color response, and may differ also if the white point of the
measurement is different to your display.
The color palette can be chosen from a drop-down list of all the
installed Color Pallets on your device. To install color Palettes,
see Downloading
Named Color Palettes.
Since a Chromatic Adaptation is used in transforming the measured
color to the white point used in the Palette as well as your
display, this is a white relative space and needs a defined white
point. Details of white
point configuration.
Note that "ToastTone" is a totally fictitious but familiar sounding
color guide for Toast, mentioned in Steve Upton's Article, The Color
of Toast.
